Terms of Service

I. membership / accounts

• Squib Islands is a 16+ Community. Underage users interacting with the community will be removed with a warning and banned on a repeated offense.
  • Accounts belonging to these users will be deleted, and any characters voided.
• Each user may only create one account. Accounts cannot be shared, sold, or transferred. Banned users are not permitted to create new accounts.
  • Additionally, users may not create accounts for the sole purpose of farming resources to trade or give to another user or self.
• All usernames must be safe for work and they cannot contain hateful content or sensitive information, such as your legal name.

II. conduct

General Conduct

• Be respectful and mindful of members and staff alike. Respect other users pronouns and contact preferences.
• Disagreements, disputes, and drama are to be handled privately outside of Squib Islands and related communities.
• Hostile behavior is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: bullying, hate speech, harassment, and slurs.
• The discussion of sensitive topics, politics, religion, current world issues, and venting is not allowed in Squib Islands and related communities.
• Squib Islands and all related communities are Safe for Work (SFW) spaces. The sharing of 18+ and Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content is not tolerated.

Reports

• For all reports, you must use official contact methods. Reports should not be made through public community spaces.
  • On-site reports can be submitted here; alternatively, found underneath the "Submit" dropdown button.
  • The Squib Islands Discord server has a "#private-ticket" channel available for users to discuss with staff privately.
    • This creates a private channel with only the member, moderators, and owners.
• If you have concerns about the conduct of other users, contact staff through official channels (reports, private tickets on Discord). Do not confront other users or mini-mod.
• Do not contact staff members directly through private messages or Discord direct messages unless they have already stated that this is ok to do.
• It is not permitted to share details, screenshots, or information from private discussions publicly without prior permission.
  • Details or screenshots from conversations with staff may not be redistributed outside of the original context. Linking a publicly answered staff message with the orginal context is ok.

Feedback

• Anonymous and public feedback can both be made on site, through our feedback forms. 
  • Be sure to read the details in the form description. Different forms have different levels of privacy.
  • All feedback must follow our general conduct rules.
• General suggestions and feedback can be made in Squib Island's Discord server using the "#feedback" threads. 
  • Any user may create a thread and give feedback on any aspect of the site or ARPG.

II. user content & submissions

The use of any Artificial Intelligence, including (but not limited to) both writing and art, is not permitted. No AI-generated content is permitted and will be removed. This can result in a strike or ban from the site, community, and species.

• Squib Islands and all related communities are Safe for Work (SFW) spaces. The sharing of 18+ and Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content is not tolerated.
• Content containing minor gore and common phobias must be spoilered and the trigger warning noted.
  • If you are submitting this piece for approval (design or prompt), make note of the trigger warnings in the comments section.
• Content must not infringe on any third party's rights.
• Squib Islands reserves the right to remove any content from this website at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. 

IV. ownership

Characters

• The owner of any character on the Squib Island's masterlist owns both personal and non-commercial rights to the character. Squib Islands owns the commercial rights of all characters on the masterlist.
  • The owner wholly owns the character design, but cannot claim the Squib species as their own.
• Characters cannot be co-owned. Only one owner can be listed on the masterlist, and they are recognized as the official owner.
  • Any co-ownership is privately held and Squib Islands staff team cannot assist in disputes.
• Official designs may be uploaded elsewhere with credit, and must link back to the site. Banned users must also follow this rule.

Creation

• A MYO Slot is needed to create a character for Squib Islands, and must be approved before it can be considered official.
  • An official character is defined as a character uploaded to the masterlist.
    • Characters with the tag "VOID" are no longer official.
    • "VOID" characters may be eligible for reinstatement depending on the circumstances. This is up to staff discretion.
  • Unofficial characters may not be shared outside of WIP spaces, and are not eligible for submissions or ARPG participation.

Users are allowed to resale characters and their artwork for any currency, but not with NFTs and/or cryptocurrency.

IV. RESTRICTIONs

You are expressly and emphatically restricted from all the following:

1. Selling, sublicensing, and/or otherwise commercializing any Website material digitally and physically.
2. Claiming ownership of any Website material that isn't yours.
3. Using this Website in any way that is, or may be, damaging to this Website.
4. Using this Website in any way that impacts users access to this Website.
5. Using this Website contrary to applicable laws and regulations, or
   in a way that causes, or may cause, harm to the Website, or to any
   person or business entity.
6. Engaging in any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting or any other similar activity in relation to this Website, or while using this Website.
7. Using this Website to engaging in any advertising or marketing unless permission granted by the admins.
8. Using and finding glitches/bugs to help you advance or gain items
   that isn't normal or fair. If found, you must alert the glitch/bug to
   us immediately.

Certain areas of this Website are restricted from access by you and Squib Islands may further restrict access by you to any areas of this Website, at any time, in its sole and absolute discretion. Any user ID and password you may have for this Website are confidential, and you must maintain the confidentiality of such information.

VI. sensitive / prohibited content

• The following content is allowed on site with a filter or content warning: TBA.
• 21+ content, including NSFW topics, are not allowed. 

Disputes and liability

Squib Islands does not guarantee uninterrupted services. Services may be modified or discontinued at any point, with or without warning.

We are not responsible or liable for any claims, losses, or damages that may result from official transactions, transactions or trade/ownership disputes between users, restricted or revoked access to a user's account in the event of a ban.
